The concept

Unfold Consulting was set up to provide strategic, tactical, hands-on enhancement of revenue generation to drive asset value growth.

We define and implement improvement programmes that combine Demand Generation, Revenue Optimisation and Customer Engagement methodology.

In response to the objectives set out by our clients, we act on the front and back office operational functions to influence the customer experience and impact on top line revenue to ultimately drive higher return for owners.

With a growing portfolio of clients ranging from a single unit to larger portfolios of managed and franchised hotels, Unfold Consulting is a recognised expert in revenue focused audit, strategy setting and implementation. Our successes cover branded and unbranded properties across Europe and beyond.

The team

Sylvie Cartiser (MIH IHSC) – Managing Director has worked for 25 years in the UK in the hospitality sector. She has held various senior Sales & Marketing roles with Hilton International, New Otani, City Inn Contemporary Hotels (now part of the Hilton family), and The Ascott Group (Serviced Apartments).  Besides managing Marketing budgets of up to circa £400K, Sylvie was responsible in her last role for a team of 11 individuals across two countries and a portfolio generating total revenue of circa £35M.

Sylvie CartiserSylvie was awarded ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in 1986 when she created ‘Objectif+’ (Qualitative/Quantitative Market research) after graduation and developed a portfolio that included Marks & Spencer, France Telecom, Credit Agricole.
Fluent in French and English, her drive has always been to turn challenging situations into proven success stories.

As a recognised member of the Institute of Hospitality (MIH) and the International Society of Hospitality Consultants (IHSC), Sylvie is a firm believer in promoting best practice, enhancing skills and raising the profile of the hospitality industry.

Unfold team consist of selected experts who we worked with over the years. Each associate brings along over 20 years of dealings with challenging situations, systems and process implementations, opening and closure of assets, and brand repositioning. We have all experienced large and global operating structures, boutique hotels with lean teams, conference and MICE driven resorts and city based serviced apartments, from 3 to 5 star luxury properties.

To say we’ve seen it all would be unfair as each of our client is unique. Our client owners, investors, developers have their individual visions and objectives, which is why our approach is always aligned with their financial targets and time frames.

Our participation is punctual, strategic and practical. No lengthy reports but factual recommendations and effective implementation supported by regular reviews with our clients’ executive team and their operators / franchisors.

Our methodology is based on in-depth gap analysis of all or specific revenue generating areas of your hotel / serviced apartment asset with a strong focus on Sales, Marketing and Revenue functions. Our audits are impartial, revealing and measurable.

We all know that a $1 increase in ADR for a 500 key hotel with 70% occupancy would generate an incremental $127,750 in room revenue alone...

Our ultimate objective is to impact on top line revenue to drive asset value growth and profitability.
